ConsultE

TLC invites you, as an independent consultant, entrepreneur, professional expert in your field, Trainer, Coach or Facilitator, or someone transitioning from your current stage in life to “being your own boss,” to be an active learner in our 2nd Cohort of Talent, Leadership and Change’s (TLC) Consulting Essentials Course (ConsultE). Aprogram specifically designed for individuals who may want to transform their perspective and practice about helping create conditions for success — for themselves and others.

If you're curious about whether this program is right for you in helping you on your consulting journey, you might want to ask yourself the following questions:

  • Are you looking to be part of the "gig economy" fast?

  • Are you a subject matter expert and are aspiring to unlock your potential?

  • Are you internal or external to a client or consulting organization and feel under-optimized?

  • Have been consulting for some time but need a refresh or restart ?

  • Do you want to discover how you can demonstrate the value you add to your clients and stakeholders?

If so, then ConsultE will help you transform your skill sets into Strategic Strengths-based Consulting

  • To be better at what you're already good at through helping others solve complex problems.

  • Leverage your expertise and experience to help multiple stakeholders with shared goals.

  • To monetize your talents as a first or second income source as an Independent Consultant or to add value to your team by being an Internal Consultant

  • To realize your deeper and higher calling of making this world a "better place."

Course Objectives:

  • Define consulting, articulate models, approaches, and applications to defined contexts

  • Assess one's self vs. skills sets, competencies and mindsets that make for effective consulting and design a self-development plan.

    • Describe the consulting process and discover how authentic communication can powerfully build foundational relationships for consulting success.

    • Describe, discuss, debate actual consulting experiences; what worked or not.

  • Articulate the business of consulting from building brand, capacity and internal or external marketing

ConsultE Coverage

    • Reports and presentations: beyond the persuasive pitch to prescriptions that stick; getting the client “aha”—from insight to ownership; measuring success

  • Articulating the Business of Consulting

    • Consulting delivery: from proposal implementation plan and execution; ethical practices and governance—from NDA’s to navigating poitics, relationship “landmines”, and conflict resolution

    • The “business” of consulting and application of specialized settings & making that transition to self-employed free agent; crafting your brand, selling, marketing and community building

    • The Consultant as an evolving human being and life-long learner; Self-Development Plan and practicing Self-Directed Learning (SDL)

  • This involves a guided consulting practice from designing the approach to implementation and evaluation.

Participants will identify & finalize a 4-week Consulting Project that will serve as a capstone to the ConsultE Program.
