What’s mindfulness meditation?

It is the training of mental attention that awakens us beyond the conditioned mind and habitual thinking, and reveals the true nature of reality.

It allows us to pay attention to the present moment, non-judgmentally.

FAQs

  • The main form of communication for MFM2 is Viber.

    Upon registering, please include your Viber number for you to be added into our Group Chat as soon as possible. All participants must have a Viber account (or make one) to join and actively participate in MFM2.

  • Before every session, the Program Manager of MFM2 will post an attendance poll in the Viber group chat. This is another reason why one has to have a Viber account to be a part of MFM2.

    For a session to push through, there needs to be at least four people who will respond ‘yes’ to the attendance poll on or before 5:00 PM.

  • Our group sits will be held via Zoom. Don’t worry, as soon as you finish your registration process, you will be included in the Viber GC where the Zoom link is provided before every session.

  • You can expect a ‘check-in question’ to be shared before the start of the session in our TLC MFM2 Viber Group which we will talk about for half an hour or so before the sit as a community.

    The group will then sit for the remaining time, which usually is about half an hour.

  • We do a variety of mindful meditation practices, from basic breathwork, body scan meditation (Vipassana), loving kindness meditation and centering prayer among others.

  • The MFM2 community welcomes folks from all religious backgrounds. Rest assured, mindfulness meditation is a secular practice that draws on contemplative traditions from around the world. It can certainly be a part of one’s religious and spiritual life (through different forms of contemplative prayer or practice) but again, this is a secular, non-denominational practice.

  • You’re more than welcome to sign up, as long as you have your Viber account. If you don’t have it, we suggest making one as soon as possible.

    Please do note that all sessions are in Philippine Standard Time.
